The MOMS Club was started when Mary, an at-home mother in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other at-home mothers and she wanted to find other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for at-home mothers, and the MOMS Club was born; that was in 1983.

The chapter she started was so successful, she knew mothers in other areas must be needing the MOMS Club, too. Soon she and other volunteers were helping mothers start MOMS Clubs across the country and around the world!

Now there are over 2000 chapters with 100,000 members! New chapters are starting all the time - in fact, about 20-30 new chapters start every month!

Our local chapter was founded in 1999 and is open to all of Coon Rapids North of Hwy 10 (generally the 55448 zip code). The club's goals are to connect women of diverse backgrounds who have the common thread of having chosen motherhood as a full time career by being at home while raising their children. The club offers opportunities for a variety of educational and fun activities for both mothers and children alike.

Additionally, the club offers its members an opportunity make a difference in the community with our commitment to helping not just our own children, but all area children by performing a variety of service projects each year to enhance the lives of children and mothers in need.

The Coon Rapids North chapter currently has a membership of about 23 active members and is rapidly growing!

Our International chapters include Canada, Czech Republic, Ghana, Italy, Slovenia, Belgium, and South Africa.

Our chapter holds most of its activities during the day to meet the needs of today’s at-home Mom, meaning all activities are planned with the idea that kids will be attending as well!!

Goals
The Club's goals are to provide a support group and social outlet for mothers who choose to be at-home to raise their children, to help children in the community, to perform at least one service project per year that assists children or families in need, and to provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers.

Information from International MOMS Club...

We are a support group designed just for you, the at-home mother of today! You are interested in the world around you, want a variety of activities for you and your children, and are proud of your choice of at-home mothering for your families! We know, because we're at-home mothers, too!

You need a support group that understands your special needs as an at-home mother and we're it! We are the first, largest and fastest growing support group specifically for ALL at-home mothers:

Here are some of the things that make us special:
We meet during the day, when at-home mothers most need support!
We believe being a mother shouldn't isolate you, so mothers may bring their children with them! For meetings, groups set up children's rooms with member volunteer babysitters (the children think they are at their own club!) and at activities, having children present is considered a natural part of life!
We have an established support system for our local chapters. Our volunteer Coordinators are experienced MOMS Club Moms who are ready to help you every step of the way! You can call them for advice, ideas and help! Where there are several groups in an area, we help set up luncheons and get-togethers so officers and members can network and exchange ideas, and we have special newsletters and other support just for our local chapters and members!
The MOMS Club is a nonprofit corporation and a 501 (C) (3) publicly-supported charity registered with the IRS!
We know being an at-home mother today means making a financial sacrifice, so dues to our local chapters are only $15-30 per year! Registration fees for chapters are only $30 per group or $2 per member per year!
At-home mothers of any age children are welcome! You don't have to leave the group when your children enter school! We know you still need support as your children grow!
